David Frederick Cason, age 78, of Highland, IL, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Evelyn’s House, St. Louis, MO. David was born on November 12, 1945, in Wellingborough North Hampton, England, a son of the late William and Mary (Asser) Cason.
On October 29, 1964, David married Diana Ward, the love of his life at Hope Lutheran Church in Granite City, IL. David retired as a maintenance supervisor from Mallinckrodt Chemical in St. Louis, MO, after many years of dedicated service.
He was an avid Elvis fan, St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan and St. Louis Blues Hockey fan, and he loved going to home games with his family. David also enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and he was a jack of all trades. He took pride in his work, and he loved helping his family fix things around their homes. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren and dogs. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his devoted wife of sixty years, Diana Cason of Highland, IL; loving children, Tricia (Thomas) Newton of Alhambra, IL, David Cason Jr., of Highland, IL and Christopher (Sarah) Cason of Troy, IL; dear sisters, Penny (Mike) Rousseau of Glen Carbon, IL and Pam (Larry) Harman of Edwardsville, IL; proud grandfather to Ashley (Drew) Cress, Ryan (fiancé Kaitlyn) Newton, Taylor Cason, Logan Cason and Chloe Cason; proud great-grandfather to Colton Cress; beloved faithful four legged companion, Blondie; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends.
In celebration of his life, a visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m., with Pastor Sharon Autenrieth officiating. David will be laid to rest at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL.
