John Owen Corbett, 79, of O’Fallon, IL, born December 9, 1944, in Glens Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
John proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a master sergeant. After retirement, he had a career in information technology. He was also involved in the O’Fallon Community Policing Program and the First Baptist Church of O’Fallon. John was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and a talented woodworker.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Orlo and Margaret Corbett (nee Owen); and two sisters, Janice Corbett and Janet Davis.
Left to cherish John’s memory are his beloved wife, Mineko Corbett (nee Komada) of O’Fallon, IL; their five children, John (Rebecca) Corbett of Belleville, IL, Danny (Ryoko) Corbett of Saitama, Japan, Kimi (Michael Farmer) Corbett of Troy, IL,
Michael (Caroline Haarmann) Corbett of Alexandria, VA, Mitchell (Jill Reilly) Corbett of Bethesda, MD; two sisters, Joyce Evans of Bristol, RI, Carolyn (Jon) Hanna of Port St. Lucie, FL; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Corbett, Grace Corbett, Sara Corbett, Cecelia Corbett, Andrew Corbett, Theodore Corbett; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will take place on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 4–6 p.m., at Schildknecht Funeral Home; 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O’Fallon, IL 62269.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 6 p.m., at Schildknecht Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Munton officiating.
Burial will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
