Beverly Rae Chisenhall, 84, of Troy, passed away Nov. 23, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
She was born Aug. 31, 1940, in East St. Louis to Marjorie Helen Gardner (nee Garner) and Raymond Gardner Jr.
Bev loved watching birds in her backyard, especially hummingbirds, and working with her husband, Wayne, in their vegetable garden. She also enjoyed driving along the Mississippi River in Alton to see bald eagles in winter.
She retired in 2000 from Region 2 Special Education Cooperative, where she worked as a secretary. Bev graduated from East St. Louis High School, and many of her classmates remained cherished friends throughout her life. She lived in Troy for the past 50 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and cousin. Bev deeply loved her family and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and stepfather, Harold Easton.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Wayne Chisenhall of Troy; son, Mark (Cindy) Chisenhall of Mocksville, NC; daughter, Sherry Chisenhall of Tega Cay, SC; sister, Judy Phelps of Granite City; sisters-in-law Patricia Chisenhall of Eden Prairie, MN, and Sarah Chisenhall of Wilmington, NC; and dear cousins, nephews and a niece.
At Bev’s request, a service is not planned. A Celebration of Life may be held later.
