Jacqueline M. “Jackie” Wells, age 90, of Shiloh, IL, born on November 6, 1934, in St. Louis, MO, died on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Jackie attended Beaumont High School, St. Louis, MO and received a certificate in Licensed Practical Nursing from National Institute School of Practical Nursing. She worked for a number of employers, but last with the USAF Scott Medical Center as a records clerk, retiring on January 1, 1998. She was the “Jackie of all trades.”
Jackie was a longtime member of Edgemont Bible Church, and loved cake decorating, ceramics, crafts, reading the bible, attending bible study, being with her church ladies, traveling far and wide, sitting by her pool and hosting many parties. She loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were the highlight of her life. She was the glue that kept us together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. “Casey” Wells; and her parents, Edward S. and Evelyn, nee Finn Buxbaum.
Jackie is survived by her children, David (Linda) Wells, Tom (Sue) Wells, Cheryl (Stephen) Scharf, and Susie (Randy) Lauer; her grandchildren, Heather Wasson, Tom (Chastity) Wells, Kellie (Andrew Sternau) Scharf, Michael (Erin) Wells, Brittany (Ross) Gugliotta, Nathan (Ann Marie) Lauer, and Evan Lauer; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her brother, Donald Buxbaum; her sister, Barbara (Jim) Teter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Visitation will also be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Edgemont Bible Church, Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Edgemont Bible Church, Fairview Heights, IL with Rev. Doug White officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
