Robert J. Trokey, 90, of Freeburg, IL, born May 21, 1934, in Freeburg, IL, died Sunday, December 1, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Trokey was a City of Belleville employee before his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL and was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Robert was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, the Knights of Columbus Council 9700, and the Catholic War Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean, nee Striler, Trokey who died on July 6, 2005; his parents, Fred F. and Beaulah, nee York, Trokey; and a brother, Fred Trokey.
Surviving are a daughter, Shellie (Arnold) Berry; two step-daughters, Donna Schneider, and Vicky Payton; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Clint) Gentry, Holly Berry, Carla (Tom) Robben, Chad (Kimi) Schneider, Damon Payton, Lucas Schneider, Melvin Calhoun and Victor Payton; and 23 great-grandchildren, Drake Wood, Darien Wood, Alex Santos, Logan Santos, Oliver Russell, Christa (Kian) Both, Chase Schneider, Madysin Lintznich, Luciana Schneider, Toby Payton, Elizabeth Robben, Hannah Robben, Thomas Robben, Kyle Robben, Lillie Morris, Damian Tracy, Micah Gray, Lucas Schneider, Jr., Trevor Schneider, Tristian Schneider, Jamel Calhoun, Jayden Calhoun, and Meliyah Calhoun.

Burial with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO
