Manuel Hernandez Lopez, age 84, of Collinsville, IL, born on June 9, 1941, in Zacatecas, Mexico, died on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
Manuel was the former supervisor with Falcon Refusal Company, Long Beach, CA. He was a extraordinary man as a husband, father, grandfather and friend. Manuel was a role model while living as he fought cancer for 13 years. He loved all aspects of baseball and was a fan of many teams, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers. Manuel will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Benita Hernandez.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Petra Hernandez; his children, Maria Elba Hernandez, Claudia Hernandez, Moises Hernandez, Juan Manuel Hernandez, Benito Hernandez, and Erika Hernandez; 14 grandchildren, Ana, Victor, Emily-Marie, Steven, Nicole, Izabel, Nathaly, Benito, Diego, Ismael, Emilio, Mikey, Arianna, and Elsa; his sisters, Soledad Villagrana and Maria de Jesus Hernandez; his brother, Antonio Hernandez; his sister-in-law, Juanita Hernandez; and his brother-in-law, Blas Hernandez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
A Funeral Procession will leave Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL with Father Michael Haag officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
