Sandra Ripple

Sandra M. “Sandy” Ripple, age 90 of Pocahontas, IL, died Sunday, December 8, 2024, at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, IL.

She was born on Saturday, August 18, 1934, in Emmaus, PA, the daughter of Harold and Marguerite (nee Bruder) Giering.

Mrs. Ripple was born at Emmaus, PA and attended schools LaJolla, CA, Honolulu, HI, and Emmaus, PA. She had lived in her younger life in Belleville, IL and Phoenix, AZ; in 1965 she moved back to Pennsylvania and then in 1993 to Highland, IL. Sandy was a very private person and did not join clubs/organizations or attend church.

She was a Vice-President of Mayflower Moving in Allenton, PA for a number of years. She collected Lladró Porcelain figurines. She had a passion for reading and loved animals. She had a number of dogs as pets over the years. For a number of years she operated Ripple Valley Company. Her paintings on dishes were beautiful. Sandy also liked to paint and do ceramic art as well.

Survivors include:

  • Daughter – Marita Lee Ripple, Mount Prospect, IL
  • Niece – Sandra Lee (Glen W.) Chinn, Hypoluxo, FL
  • Sister-In-Law – Carol Giering
  • Nephew – Scott Giering, Coral Gables, FL

She was preceded in death by:

  • Father – Harold Augustus Giering (DOD: 1944)
  • Mother – Marguerite Anna Giering (DOD 2/18/2002)
  • Brother – Richard H. Giering
  • Sister – Rita A. Hardy (died 8/22/2016)
  • Brother-In-Law – Robert G. Hardy (died 4/18/1993)

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Interment will be at Emmaus Moravian Cemetery in Emmaus, PA.
