Theresa Virginia Patrich, 85, of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Evercare of Edwardsville.
She was born October 2, 1939, in Bronx, New York, a daughter of the late Leo N. and Virginia (Ippolito) Begnoche.
She married Donald E. Patrich on February 14, 1959, and he passed away on March 17, 2014.
Theresa was a proud New Yorker and took great pride in her Italian heritage. Although she lived in Illinois since 1963, she considered New York her home and never lost her New York accent. She was very excited to see her New York Yankees playing in the World Series this past season.
She loved to sing and was in a guitar group along with her daughter, Mary for many years and also sang with the choir. Theresa had worked in Human Resources with 35 years of dedicated service with St. Elizabeth Medical Center and retiring with Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. She cherished her family and will be remembered for the love and special times treasured with family and friends.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Steven and Cheryl Patrich of Granite City, Robert and Dawn Patrich of Columbia, Tennessee and Mary and John Kwiatkowski of St. Jacob, Illinois; grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica Patrich, Chad Patrich, Kristen and John Gauffreau, Matthew Kwiatkowski, Amber Cottingham and Josh Koenig, Katie and Nathan Harris, Nicholas Patrich, Eric and Megan Patrich and Joni Patrich; great grandchildren, Scarlette, Addison, Caitrin, Aaron, Kate Louise, Maxwell Tyler, and Jonah, a brother, Leo Begnoche and sister in-law Mary Grace Begnoche, sister in-law Berma Patrich, special friend Pam Tanksley and other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brant Patrich and a brother, Robert Begnoche.
Visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Illinois on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 1 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 3 p.m. with Minister Terry Mabery officiating. Cremation rites will follow at a later date and she will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City.
Memorials may be made to Pancreatic cancer research or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
