Leroy Francis Shea, age 84 of Collinsville, IL, born November 15, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on December 22, 2024 peacefully at Liberty Village in Maryville, IL.
Leroy worked as a mechanic for 27 years at GM&O and Illinois Central Railroad and retired from Cajun Electric. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his garage and applying his building skills to all types of projects.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Patricia “Pat” (Shimmin) Shea whom he married on May 18,1963, his mother Jeanette (Ronnenberg) Gallahar, stepfather Gerald Gallahar, and one bother-in-law, Arnold Burns
He is survived by two sons: Dale Shea of Collinsville, IL and Dennis Shea of Edwardsville, IL and one sister: Joyce (Shea) Burns of Luling, LA.
Visitation will be 10 – 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.
Funeral service will follow at 12 pm with Rev. Roger Wright officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
Memorials may be made in Leroy’s honor to Meadow Heights Baptist Church and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
