Roy Lynn Sanders, 62, of Granite City, IL, passed away Sun. Dec. 22, 2024 at his home.
He was born Aug. 19, 1962 in Ft. Campbell, KY to the late Doris June (Harris) Stark and Michael Sanders.
On Oct. 20, 1984, he and Ronna Lynne Riepe were married in Granite City. She survives.
Roy worked as Turf Mechanic and Equipment Mananger for Far Oaks Golf Course for over 20 years. He loved football and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
In addition to his wife of over 40 years, he is survived by a daughter: Tara (Cody) Greenstien of Evansburg, Alberta, CAN; 2 sisters: Lori (Charles Hardester) Hargrove of Granite City and Brittany (Tri) Nguyen of LA; and a brother: Justin (Dani) Sanders of SC.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Ricky Sanders and David Stark.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Sat. Jan. 18, 2025 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. We will leave the funeral home at 11 a.m. and process to Valley View Cemetery for a short graveside service.
