Kelley Jean Pruden, nee Broers, 64, of Belleville, IL, born Saturday, July 30, 1960, on Bitburg Air Base, Germany, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
Kelley worked as an administrator for St. Anthony’s Medical Center. She was known for her proficiency and high professional standards, no doubt the same striving for excellence that saw her graduate as valedictorian from Belleville East High School. Kelley attended William Jewell College and was a graduate of Greenville University. She was sharp as the proverbial tack.
Kelley had a peripatetic childhood, traveling the world with her Air Force family. She lived in Germany and Korea and Turkey, and loved them all.
She enjoyed hanging out with her children and her sisters, laughing until she wet her pants, dancing to the oldies, and loving on her two dogs and cat, Jake, Bernie, and Major Tom. She was generous with everyone, and had a huge contagious smile that lit up the room.
Like her mother, she did not suffer fools gladly, and would take to the keyboard to defend her values. Like her sisters and parents, she was an avid reader. From her glasses to her purse to her slippers, she loved and displayed her favorite color, purple.
