Alfred Daniel Blaylock, 78, of Maryville, IL, born December 5, 1946, in Des Arc, AR, died Saturday, January 4, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Alfred was a Vietnam veteran in the United States Army (1st Aviation Brigade). He worked as a supervisor for Midwest Rubber and then Maintenance Superintendent at Spectrulite Consortium and Magnesium Elektron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audie and Mary Cleo, nee Schembra, Blaylock; a sister, Linda Lewis; and a nephew, Anthony Teague.
Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, Edith “Edie” Blaylock, nee Wittenauer, whom he married on October 20, 1986; two sons, Dan Blaylock and Dwayne (Lily) Blaylock; four grandchildren, Daniel Blaylock, Sheridan Blaylock, Brook Howard, and Jake Blaylock; a great-grandson, Ethan Howard; six siblings, Walter Blaylock, Ruth Wade, Sharon Link, Myrna Jackson, Crinthia Crawford, and Robin Teague; and many dear nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the VFW in Troy, IL.
