JoAnn “JoJo” Morris, 84, of Granite City, IL, passed away unexpectedly at 5:59 p.m. Thurs. Jan. 16, 2025 at Anderson Hospital ER in Maryville, IL.
She was born March 12, 1940 in Granite City to the late Steve “Butch” Matthew and Mary Agnes (Topal) Bucherich.
On Sept. 1, 1962, she and Ralph Edward Morris were married in Granite City. He survives.
JoJo was loved by all. She was a beautician for many years until the birth of her third child, at which point she became a homemaker and babysitter, for she loved all children.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by 5 children: Steven Morris of Granite City, Kathy (Stephen) Nolte of Warrenton, MO, Lori Nikonovich of Sedalia, MO, Daniel Morris of Fairview Heights, IL and Kristi Jo Weltin of Granite City; 7 grandchildren: Carrie, Nicholas, Stevie III, Michele, David, Haley and Dylan; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mary “Dollie” Smith of Staunton, IL and Debbie (Raymond “Buster”) O’Bear of Pontoon Beach, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Xavier Contell; and a brother-in-law: Elmer “Fritz” Smith.
Private burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
