Cynthia Aldridge

Cynthia E. “Cindy” Aldridge (née Acocks), 59, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025, in Alton, Illinois. Born on April 6, 1965, in Alton, Illinois, she was the cherished daughter of the late Grant and Margie (Wasman) Acocks.

On June 21, 1986, in Granite City, Illinois, Cindy married the love of her life, James Timothy “Tim” Aldridge. Their 38 years of marriage stand as a testament to their enduring love and devotion.

Cindy’s greatest joy in life was being a grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, teaching them their ABCs and laying the foundation for their education from an early age. She loved doing arts and crafts projects with them, nurturing their creativity and influencing the world around them.

Cindy also had a passion for going to the shooting range with her husband, Tim, and she never missed an opportunity to showcase her skill and accuracy. Tim would proudly tell anyone that she was the better shooter.

The greatest chapters of Cindy’s life were written with her family. Her kind and caring ways always brightened their days. She was a beloved wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and cherished sister. Her legacy of compassion, love, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David Acocks; and her father and mother-in-law, Jim and Judy Aldridge.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Tim Aldridge, of Granite City, Illinois; her children, Timothy J. (Tristen) Aldridge, of Collinsville, Illinois and Jamie (Jake) Milam, of Granite City, Illinois; her grandchildren, Teagan, Tavery, Mariah, and one on the way; her siblings, Tim Acocks, Sharon Tullock, and Steve (Marcia Weeks) Acocks; her nieces and nephews, David, Jr. (Melissa), Terry (Leah), Codi (Patrick), T.J., Sabin, Tara, Shon, Jennifer, Bobby (Kerry), Mark (Stormy), James (Jannifer), Matt, and Jonathan (Angie); and many great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, friends, and neighbors. 

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff, nurses and doctors at Alton Memorial Hospital and Siteman Cancer Center for their care and support.

Visitation: Family and friends may gather from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Rd., Granite City, Illinois. 

Funeral: Services will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, Illinois with Pastor Larry Ridenour officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Edwardsville, Illinois.
