Clifford J. Gilmer, 59, of Belleville, IL, born June 3, 1965, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, January 18, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Gilmer worked for over 20 years at Fridays South, Belleville, IL, and spent many years working as an independent painter throughout the area. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Tennessee Volunteers football team and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
Most of all, Cliff was a very kind and generous soul who touched many lives. He had the biggest heart and his generosity knew no limits. He would give everything he had to help someone in need. He was a friend to everyone who knew him. He was also a loving and devoted son to his mother, helping her with any need that she had.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “Tom” and Frances, nee Eversgerd, Gilmer; and a brother-in-law, Frank Cange.
He will lovingly be remembered by his family.
Surviving are three sisters and one brother, Patricia Cange, Phil Gilmer (Lisa Blissenbach), Susan Casson, and Mary Morris; five nieces and nephews, Jennifer Riggles (Brandon), Jacob, and Emily Cange, Olivia Casson, and Ethan Morris; and many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Godfrey Mullen, OSB, officiating.
Private family burial will be held at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
