Portia Louise Rowland age 32, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at her home.
Portia was born on January 24, 1992, in Kansas City, MO. She is the daughter of Jeff Rowland, Cheryl (Myers) Mueller, and Bob Mueller all of Collinsville, IL.
Portia will be remembered as a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt and a dear friend, who never met a stranger. She was truly a bright, shining light in this world and lifted the spirits of everyone she met.
She graduated from Collinsville High School in 2010. Portia enjoyed working with her hands and she worked as a mechanic for the Metropolitan Sewer District in St. Louis, MO. Portia was a talented athlete, and she excelled in playing flag football, volleyball and billiards. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and hanging out with her friends. Portia will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Portia is survived by dear siblings, Maxwell (Heather) Rowland of Katy, TX, Christopher (Janyce Bennett) Mueller of Collinsville, IL, Jessica (Tyler) Thornhill of St. Louis, MO, Lucas Mueller of Collinsville, IL, Jacob Mueller of Collinsville, IL and, proud grandmother, Janis Rowland of Highland, IL, special friend Sarah Shafer, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Jesse and Helen Myers, Richard Rowland and Dr. Joseph and Verna Jo Mueller.
In celebration of her life, a visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon, IL. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. on Monday, with Pastor Sharon Autenrieth officiating.
