Charlotte was born on January 28, 1944, in Ironton, Missouri. She was a cherished daughter of the late Charles and Dema (Huffman) Clark. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Charlotte married the love of her life Robert Schuman on September 19, 1959. Their sixty-five year marriage stands as a testament to their unwavering support, love, and devotion to each other. She was a devout Christian who found joy in helping others and sharing the gospel with those in her company. Charlotte was the living embodiment of a self-made woman. Working hard her entire life, she found her true joy and passion when she opened her own business, Finishing Touches by Charlotte, previously This Old House on Historic Main Street in St. Charles, Missouri.
In her free time, she loved to travel and experience new cultures. Traveling with her best friends Diana Schaffer and Nancy Humes, Charlotte was blessed to embark on several trips across the United States and many international trips. She always returned home with unique souvenirs and incredible stories for her loved ones.
Charlotte was fiercely independent and incredibly strong-willed. She was known to say what she thought no matter the circumstance. Her small stature was in stark contrast to her extraordinary bold personality. She will be remembered for her selfless nature, and her kind heart. Charlotte’s memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her. Although she will be greatly missed, we find peace in knowing that she left the world a better and brighter place for those she loved.
