Jerry Wayne Braswell, age 79, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Jerry was born on August 28, 1945, in Granite City, IL, a son of the late Virgil and Hildred “Doodle” (Dix) Braswell.
Jerry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and dear friend. On February 14, 2004, Jerry married Linda Atwood in Granite City, IL. Jerry retired from the trucking industry after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing old school country music, karaoke and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Jerry will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Krebeck and by a grandson, Matthew W. Braswell (29).
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Braswell of Granite City, IL, children, Bruce Braswell of St. Louis, MO, Scott Braswell of Granite City, IL, Cara (Brett) Stallard of Millstadt, IL, stepsons, Rob (Angie) Storey of Granite City, IL and Randy Storey of Livingston, IL, stepdaughter, Lisa (Joe) Reinhardt of Alhambra, IL, proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Cancer Research in honor of his sister, Karen
Jerry’s wishes were to be cremated and to have no formal funeral service.
