Norman Brider

Norman “Jack” Brider, 80, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 12:01 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Stearns Nursing and Rehab in Granite City.

He was born February 14, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Norman and Rose Brider.

He married Diane Joyce (Kielty) Brider in November 1972, and she survives.

He had retired from Trade Waste Incineration in Cahokia and had also worked at American Steel and Grant’s Department Store. He was a member of the American Rifle Association and enjoyed tending to his home and yard.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, David P. Brider of Collinsville and Steve and Stephanie Brider of St. Jacob; a grandson, David A. Brider of Collinsville; a sister, Karen Brider of Alton; sister-in-law, Tina Kielty of Granite City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Sandy Kielty of Texas; two nephews; Kyle and James Kielty; other extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Fleming; a brother-in-law, Kevin Kielty and a nephew, Bryan Kielty.

In celebration of his life, a private family graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
