Clara Call

Clara Belle Call, nee Thompson, 76, of Swansea, IL, born October 12, 1948, in Elizabethtown, IL, died Friday, February 14, 2025, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Clara worked majority of her career for the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois Department of Public Aid. She was a cashier for Schnucks, a stocker at Target, and worked at the Village of Swansea. She was a lifetime member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Clara enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, crocheting, and watching old movies. She also loved spending time with her grand dogs, Sawyer and Pongo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Eithel, nee Holbrook, Thompson; a brother, William Oxford; two sisters, Frances (Gene) Womble and Anita Thompson; a sister-in-law, June Thompson; and a brother-in-law, Bob Ballard.

Surviving are her loving husband Richard Call;

two sons, Andrew (Bev) Call

and Thomas Call;

a sister, Mildred Ballard;

a brother, Robert Thompson;

and many dear nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Clair County Animal Adoption Center. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 10 to 12 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Burial will follow at Palmier Hill Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
