William R. Korobey, age 89, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on June 14, 1935, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL.
William was a former Director of Quality Control at Anheuser Busch Brewery in St. Louis, MO., retiring after 40 years. He also operated Costello Usher Service in St. Louis for 47 years at Busch Stadium in partnership with the St. Louis Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley L. nee Dycus Korobey; his parents, Pete and Stella Chomicki Korobey; and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Cathie Korobey.
William is survived by his children, Pete (Lisa) Korobey of St. Louis County, MO, William R. (Joyce) Korobey Jr., of Millstadt, IL, Catherine (Jeff) Barnello of Fairview Heights, IL, and Steve (Dionne) Korobey of Lebanon, IL; 9 grandchildren, Tara, Billy, Kristine, Kyle, Adrian, Gabrielle, Shelby, Sara and Sydney; 6 great grandchildren, Rayna, Camryn, Kyliegh, Madilyn, Brantley, and Khloe; and his sister, Carol (Alan Pressey) Willett of Belleville, IL.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Visitation will also be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens of Memory, Fairview Heights, IL.
