David L. “Dave” Presswood Sr., 89, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:19 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Stearns Nursing and Rehab in Granite City, Illinois. He was born February 24, 1935, in Chester, Illinois, a son of the late Ernest and Lela (VanMeter) Presswood. David retired from General Electric after many years of service as an appliance installer.
He enjoyed his days of fishing, duck hunting and playing cards. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Roberta (Ward) Presswood; a son, Dave L. Presswood Jr. of Mitchell; a daughter, Vicki Presswood of Granite City; two grandchildren, Dave Dalessio and Nichole Coad; a great grandson, Logan Williams; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brett Allen Presswood and a brother, Russell Presswood.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 12:00 noon with Reverend Sharon Autenrieth officiating.
