Robert C. Meehling, 89, of Belleville, IL, born November 10, 1935, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Evelyn’s House, Creve Coeur, MO.
Bob graduated from Cathedral Grade School, O’Fallon High School, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He had retired as president from Typotronics, Inc., St. Louis, MO. He was a member of St. Peter’s Cathedral, Belleville, IL.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Meehling, nee Crosby, whom he married June 17, 1967, and who died December 25, 2011; his parents, Xavier Meehling and Hilda, nee Schobert, Schanherr; his step-father, John “Bud” Schanherr; a step-daughter, Brenda DeHart; a grandson; and three brothers-in-law, Coy Smith, Raymond Uhl, and Rick Jones.
Surviving are a son and four daughters, Tim (Lisa) Meehling, Barb DeHart (Paul Clendenin), Cindy (Joe) Gallagher, Debbie Meehling (Tracey Smith), and Tracey (Craig) Heimburger; two step-daughters, Shari Lotz and Linda Eckels; two sisters, Lynn Jones and Rita Uhl; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a handful of great-great-grandchildren; and nieces.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.
Burial will be held at a later date at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
