Genevieve M. Jones, 98, of O’Fallon, IL, born September 14, 1926, in Doe Run, MO, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at her home.
Genevieve was a local business owner for many years. She traveled the world with her husband as he served in the military. She enjoyed being in the yard and working in her flowers, which was featured in the newspaper. She was always happy when people stopped to tell her about how beautiful her yard was. She would even give them starts of the flowers. Genevieve loved to tell her grandchildren stories of her childhood. She touched many lives and will not be forgotten.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Maple and Hazel Allen (nee Huff); her husband, Cleon Jones; her son Gregory A. Jones; brother Curtis Allen; and a sister in infancy.
Genevieve is survived by her son, Steven A. Jones of O’Fallon, IL; daughter, Brenda L. Lehman of O’Fallon, IL; four grandchildren, Erica (Reya) Wilde, David Stern, Matthew Stern, Taylor Jones; and a great grandchild, Olivia Weatherford. Bonus daughter Wendi Soltysik, Bonus Granddaughter & care giver Caitlyn Hale.
