Joyce Faye Ousley, age 84, of Granite City, IL, formerly of Reno, NV, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Stearns Nursing & Rehab Center, Granite City, IL. Joyce was born on January 5, 1941, in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Herbert Eugene Ousley Sr. and Beulah Mae (Smallwood) Ousley.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her partner, John Meckes, a brother, Lynn Ousley, and by her sisters-in-law, Sandra Ousley and Shermalee Ousley.
Joyce grew up and lived in Madison, IL surrounded by many extended cousins and extended family. She enjoyed travel, especially to San Franciso and made frequent trips there to visit the ocean. She also loved reading and walking with her dog Becky.
Joyce will be remembered as a kind and loving sister, aunt and friend. She retired as an executive secretary from Cal Neva Casino in Reno, NV, after many years of dedicated service. Joyce will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving brothers, Joseph Ousley and Herbert Ousley Jr., both of Granite City, IL, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Joyce’s wishes were to be cremated and to have no formal services.
