Anna Miller

Anna Marie Miller, 62, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, March 6th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Anna was born March 29, 1962, in Granite City, Illinois, to Phillip and Mary Miller. A 1980 graduate of Granite City High School where she was captain of the pom pom squad. She was outgoing and made many friends. She was never afraid to try something new or learn a new skill, and enjoyed ceramics in particular.

Anna had a passion for interior design and took pride in the home she had built. She loved to travel and to be near the ocean. She had a gift for finding the perfect souvenir to remember her journeys. Her most fondly remembered destination was Italy, where she saw Assisi, Rome, Florence, and the Vatican. Anna will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was an eternal optimist, a dreamer who endured so many trials without complaint. She saw opportunity and potential where many would only see challenge.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Sarah (Mike) Christensen of St. Louis, Missouri; mother, Mary Thompson of Granite City, Illinois; stepmother, Wendy Miller of Granite City; brother, Randy (Sherry) Miller of Collinsville, Illinois; niece, Caylee (Joey) Renick, great nephew, Theo Renick of Edwardsville, Illinois; niece, Mayci Miller of St. Louis, Missouri, and many cousins, other close family members, and friends.

Preceded in death by partner, Jude Deken; grandparents, Ruby and Elmer Miller and Herbert and Rose Atchison; father, Phillip Miller; niece, Taylor Miller; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, at 12:00 p.m. also at Irwin Chapel with Pastor Daniel Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
