Arlene F. Agne, 95, of Swansea, IL, born April 3, 1929, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, March 14, 2025, at Evercare of Edwardsville, Edwardsville, IL.
Arlene was a legal secretary for Keefe & DePauli Legal Firm before her retirement. She was a Charter member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, and a member of the Sodality at Church. Arlene enjoyed going to yard sales, buying clothes and donating them, and was an avid book reader. Family meant everything to Arlene and loved spending time with them. Above all, her grandchildren were the stars of her crown and the joy of her life.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Leroy Agne, Sr., whom she married on June 23, 1951, and who died on March 9, 1985; her two sons, Leroy Agne, Jr. and Leonard Agne; her parents, James Sr. and Julia Frances, nee Sloger, Bedwell; her sister, Doris Oesterle; her brother, James Bedwell, Jr; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, August and Melinda, nee Jung, Agne; two sisters-in-law, Grace (Liz) Agne and Mildred Agne; and four brothers-in-law, Jack Oesterle, Sr., Ralph (Cook) Agne, Norman Agne, Robert Agne, and Raymond Agne.
Surviving are her son, Leslie (Carmel) Agne; two grandsons, Alex (Stephanie) Agne and Grant (Lindsay) Agne; four granddaughters, Elisha Kiraly, Dawn Gallo, Michelle (Joey) Hulbert-Agne, and Nicole (Michael) Ricci; four great-grandchildren; Deanna Bollinger, Adrian Agne, Lupine Hulbert, and Emilia Ricci; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Bedwell, Cecelia Agne, Sandra Agne, and Wanda Agne; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.
Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
