Christopher Mark Welch, age 45, passed away peacefully March 17, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital St. Peter’s in Missouri with his family and friends by his side.
Chris was born December 4, 1979, in Forrest City, Arkansas to Sharon Welch. Chris graduated from Pittsfield High School in Pittsfield, IL in 1998. Chris married Cassandra on July 5, 2014, in Hardin, IL.
Chris painted cars for a living as well as body work. He found joy in his faith, spoiling his 3 dogs, binge watching TV shows with his wife, and listening to all genres of music. He enjoyed riding his Harley with family and friends and traveling to Sturgis for the Motorcycle Rally. He loved being a husband, father, and uncle. Chris never knew a stranger and could strike a conversation with anyone.
Chris is survived by his wife Cassandra, Brother Jeff (Erin) Welch of Detroit, IL., two children Emma (Parker) Welch and Elie (Molly) Welch, a granddaughter, Hazel, who he unfortunately never got to meet, nieces Linzy, Caitlyn (Trevor), and Hannah, Father-in-Law & Mother-in-Law Tony & Joyce Siemer, 8 sisters in law, 6 brother in laws, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother Sharon, grandparents Jack and Minnie Hill, and a great nephew August Davis.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin, IL from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Green Pond Cemetery in Nebo.
