Owen Lee Seal, 22, of Troy, IL, born Sunday, August 11, 2002, in St. Louis, MO passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at his home in Troy, IL.
Owen was a graduate of Triad High School Class of 2020 where he graduated with honors. He was an offensive lineman for the Titans and the Triad Knights. He attended St. Louis University, earning his bachelor’s degree in 2024 in Exercise Science and was working on his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He was passionate about fitness, and a high school injury fueled his desire to be a Physical Therapist, so he could treat and help other athletes.
Owen was a dedicated player, Past President and Captain of the SLU Rugby Club and a committed friend of the Gentlemen of Aspen Rugby Club and the Sunday Morning Rugby Club. He enjoyed nature, hiking, ice cream, and music, including concerts with his father and friends. He was happiest competing on a sports field, traveling and spending time with his family and many friends. He was a supportive, kind, and generous friend to anyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sharon Seal, Daniel Hilkemeyer; great-grandparents, Roy Lee and Audrey Baker, Evelyn and David Seal and Albert Stamps.
Surviving are his parents, Gene W. and Denise E. (nee Baker) Seal of Troy, IL; partner and love of his life, Molly Craig; brother, Trevor Seal; sister, Madelyn Seal; grandparents, Dennis and Sonja Baker of Shipman, IL, Gary and Glennita Seal of Bethalto, IL and Patricia Young of Winterhaven, FL; great-grandmother, Grace Stamps of Brighton, IL; uncles, Matt (Nicki) Baker, Joe (Ashley) Young, and Jeff (Jenny) Young; Cousins, Brynn and Jaydon Baker, Lindsey Hallstead; many family members, teammates and friends.

Visitation for Owen will be held 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Troy Methodist Church, 407 Edwardsville Rd, Troy, IL 62294. The family encourages colorful attire to reflect his unique sense of style.
Funeral services for Owen will follow at 1 pm at Troy Methodist Church, Troy, IL with Rev. Andy Adams officiating.
