Sue Hanks, 87, of Troy, IL, born Wednesday, March 5, 1938, in Union City, TN and passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, at St Louis University Medical Center, St. Louis, MO.
Sue was a long-time very active member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy, serving on many committees, church board, the Women’s Guild, quilt show and rummage sale to name a few. She was always ready to share a meal and conversation with her friends and family. Sue was a member of the Stage Depot Auxiliary of Post 976 and was a helping hand on Friday Night Fish Fries. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was always happiest when they were together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. “June Bug” Hanks Jr.
Surviving is her daughter, Rhonda (Don) Clark of Troy, IL; her grandchildren, Adrienne (TJ) Fisk, and Donnie (Jennifer) Clark III; her great-grandchildren, Daphne and Russell Fisk, Rayne Smith, Lillie, Rowan, Raven and Declan Clark; and a host of friends and other relatives.

Visitation for Sue will be 10 am to 12 noon on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Friedens United Church of Christ.
Services will start at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Friedens UCC with Rev. Tim Harrison officiating. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery.
