James Raymond Johnson, 83, of Granite City, IL, died at 7:33 a.m. Wed. Mar. 26, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family while under hospice care.
He was born July 4, 1941 in Detroit, MI to the late George and Olive (Thomas) Johnson.
On Feb. 21, 1971, he and Secinia A. (Aguipo) were married in Olongopo City, Philippines. She preceded him in death Mar. 13, 2013.
James was a U.S. Navy veteran, retiring after 22 years of service. He then worked another 19 years at Camp Pendleton as a boiler operator. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Tri City Council #1098.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Maria Bandy and Sesinia (Robert) Walton; a son: Pricelo Roa; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Alice (Bill) Carter.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Candilior Roa.
