Steven F. Komeshak, age 78, of O’Fallon, IL, formerly of Glen Carbon, IL, born on September 25, 1946, in St. Louis, MO, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at his residence.
Although born in St. Louis, Steven was raised in East St. Louis. As a young man, he volunteered for the U.S. Army Reserves, later served in the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged. He worked on many commercial projects as a journeyman wireman with the IBEW Local 309 in Collinsville, IL. Steven was a life member of American Legion Post #53, and the Polish American War Veterans. He was also a member of the NRA, SAS, and the Town and Country Gun Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Catherine, nee Capps, Komeshak; and his sister, Cathy Jo Kister.
Steven is survived by his siblings, Patrick (Diane) Komeshak of Fort Myers, FL, Stephanie (Gracian) Lucido of St. Louis, MO, and Christopher Komeshak of Glen Carbon, IL. He was the uncle and great uncle of many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon, IL, with Father Donald Patrick Gibbons officiating. Interment will be at Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville, IL.
