Charles Clinard

Charles Cecil “Chuck” Clinard, 97, of Belleville, IL, born August 22, 1927, in Lawrence, MI, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Dammert Care Center, Belleville, IL, just a few days after the passing of his beloved wife, June.

Charles was a United States Navy veteran. He worked for many years as the head lineman for Detroit Edison Electric Company. He was also a professional photographer. Charles, along with his wife, June, were owners of Clinard Photography in Royal Oak, MI, and they were the first married couple in Michigan to become certified professional photographers. He was past-president of the Professional Photographers Association. Charles and June were also members of the FMCA and the Safari International Motor Home Association.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife of 77 years, June Margaret, nee McDaniels, Clinard, whom he married February 7, 1948, and who died April 10, 2025; his parents, Cecil and Edness Katherine, nee Oxley, Clinard; a brother, Barton (Jean) Clinard; two sisters, Rhoda (John) McCloud and Mary Ann (Jesse) Yott; and two grandsons, Scott Richards, and one in infancy.

Surviving are four children, Beth (Dale) Richards, Ruth Clinard, David (Jenny) Clinard, and Karen Clinard; four grandchildren, Brian (Amanda) Richards, Rebecca Richards (Robert Smith), Robert (Ashley) Clinard, and Corissa (Tony) Woollet; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis (Walter) Bartman.

Graveside services and burial for both Charles and June will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, with Rev. Amanda Richards officiating.
