Evelyn L. Mueller, nee Kayson, 80, of New Athens, IL, born March 26, 1945, in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.
Evelyn held many positions over the years, but most valued her time as a homemaker, church secretary of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and as a medical billing specialist for Dugan Radiology and Women to Woman. She also served as president for the Freeburg Food and Clothing Bank for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Harriet, nee Stallman, Kayson; her brother, David (Janice) Kayson; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edgar and Josephine Mueller.
Surviving are her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas L. Mueller, whom she married on May 28, 1966; two sons, Brian (Leigh) Mueller and Bruce (Tina) Mueller; four grandchildren, Megan (Sam) Gilbert, Emma Mueller, Kendyl Mueller, and Jenna Mueller; three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Alec, and Alexa Gilbert; a brother-in-law, Richard Mueller; and a nephew and niece, Kyle Kayson and Robin Jay.

Funeral: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL, with Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating.
Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.
