William Foster Morey, Ph.D., 89, of Belleville, IL, born Friday, July 19, 1935, in Lima, OH, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025 at Mercy Rehabilitation Center in Swansea, IL.
William was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. He was an active member of Union United Methodist Church in Belleville where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.
In his youth, Bill was dedicated to service as an Eagle Scout and later served as boy scout master. Teaching was always a passion for William. He was a tenured professor of Information Systems at the University of Central Oklahoma and taught Air Force R.O.T.C. at Southern Illinois University Carbondale for many years. In his free time, William loved to play the guitar, piano, traveling, reading, boating, camping and exercise.
He was preceded in death by his:

- Loving wife, Carol L. Morey, nee Leppich, of Belleville, IL
- Daughter, Janel (Patrick) Morey-Sassano of O’Fallon, IL

- Brother, Patrick E. (Jackie) Morey of Vero Beach, FL
- Sister, Jill (Larry) Nolan of Clayton, MO
