Rose Marie Behrmann, nee Dintelmann, 97, of Belleville, born October 3, 1927, in St. Libory, IL, died Saturday, April 19, 2025, at her daughter’s residence, surrounded by family.
Mrs. Behrmann was a founding member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. She was very active in the church and school. When her children were younger, she volunteered in their classrooms as a room mother. She served as past Treasurer of the Ladies’ Sodality and worked many card parties in support of the Ladies’ Sodality. Rose served as Kitchen Chairman for many events, including pork sausage dinners and Friday night bingos. If she was not working at the bingo, she was guaranteed to be playing bingo. She was a member of the Belleville VFW, the Belleville Senior Citizens, PSOP, and the CK&L of I Country Club in Swansea, IL.
Rose worked as a cook at Althoff Catholic High School, and later at Wolf Branch School. She was a wonderful baker who was especially known for her cookies, pies and desserts. She loved bingo games, playing cards, and gambling. Mrs. Behrmann was a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother who loved her children and family dearly. She was an extremely generous and kind person who would drop everything to help her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Victor A. Behrmann, whom she married July 16, 1947, and who died June 1, 1999; two sons-in-law, George Meyer and Randy Warnecke; her parents, Oscar and Catherine, nee Trentmann, Dintelmann; two sisters, Dorothy (John) Leisure and Mary Jane (Jake) Reed; a brother, Eugene Dintelmann; and a great friend, Jack Coyne.
She is survived by her five children, Joyce Meyer, Victor “Butch” (Cathy) Behrmann, Randy (Daphne) Behrmann, Debra (James) Bozsa, and Mary Jo Warnecke; 14 grandchildren, Jill (Bill) Strittmatter, Jodi (Josh) Browell, Greg (Jen) Meyer, Kathy (Chris) Huskamp, Brad (Stacy) Behrmann, Brian (Ashley) Behrmann, Mary (Joel) Weber, Todd (Jamie) Behrmann, Shawn (Julie) Spruill, Shaun (Michelle) Behrmann, James (April) Bozsa, Angela (Ryan) Weis, Matthew (Megan) Warnecke, and Megan (Josh) Kern; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Edna Dintelmann; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A beautiful life that came to an end. She died as she lived, everyone’s friend. In our hearts a memory will always be kept, of one we loved and will never forget.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.
Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
