Edward Philip Sardigal, 83, of Granite City, IL, died at 1:15 p.m. Tues. May 6, 2025 at Granite Nursing and Rehab in Granite City.
He was born Aug. 23, 1941 in Granite City to the late John Joseph and Mary Theresa (Sebescak) Sardigal.
Edward retired as a janitor from Children’s Hospital in St. Louis after 20 years of service. He was very religious and enjoyed sports when he was younger.
He is survived by 2 sons, Phillip E. Sardigal of Granite City, and Timothy S. Sardigal of St. Louis; 1 grandson, Brett Matthew Sardigal; 2 great grandchildren: Leelah and Leon Sardigal and a special nephew, James Kelih.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph Sardigal, and John Sardigal, and 2 sisters, Mary Ann Branz, and Katherine Kelih.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. on Fri. May 9, 2025 at St. Mary St. Mark in Madison, IL with Fr. Stephen Thompson as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
