Leo James Wolf, 90, of Freeburg, IL, born November 18, 1934, in Freeburg, IL, died Saturday, May 10, 2025, peacefully at home in Freeburg, with his family gathered around him.
Leo worked in finance at McDonnell-Douglas. He also led and participated in various ministries of faith including Cursillo and Bible studies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Marie, nee Heiligenstein, Wolf; a son, Jim Wolf; a grandson, Alex, a great-grandson, Brooks; a brother, Joe Wolf; and his sister, Mary Lou Short.
He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Catherine Wolf, nee Jones, whom he married on May 14, 1955; seven children Matt (Terri) Wolf, Tom (Donna) Wolf, Bob (Shelley) Wolf, Mark (Kim) Wolf Paul (Laura) Wolf, Mary (Brian) Trentman, and Steve (Lisa) Wolf; 23 grandchildren, Schendell (Ed), Mandy (Michael), Nikki (Josh), Lindsey (Chad), Andy (Sam), Joe (Brandi), Abby (Otto), Hannah (Andrew), Austin (Laura), Ally (Nolan), Casi (Matt), Brianna (Dom), Grace (Bradley), Leah (fiancé-Max), Emma, Nathan (fiancée-Shelby), Lucas, Curtis (fiancée-Emily), Julia (Kevin), Taryn (Kenny), Steve (Emily), Autumn, and Isaiah; 30 great-grandchildren; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. noon Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Fr. Michael Arockiam and Deacon Corby Valentine officiating.
Burial with military honors will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.
