Richard K. Stallard, 84, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 9:40 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
He was born September 22, 1940, in Whitesburg, Kentucky, a son of the late W.L. and Minnie B. (Hart) Stallard.
He married Letha “Nell” (Ingram) Stallard on June 11, 1966, in Virginia and she passed away on March 19, 2025.
Richard retired from Granite City Steel after over 30 years of dedicated service as a crane operator. He was a faithful member of the West 22nd Street Baptist Church in Granite City. He cherished his grandchildren and enjoyed his days of fishing, riding his trike and watching movies.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Stallard of Meridian, Idaho and Todd Stallard of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Rebecca Stallard of Texas and Joshua Stallard of Northwest Arkansas; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Glen Jones of Ohio; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings.
In celebration of his life, you may join the family on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, for a funeral procession at 8:15 a.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. The procession will leave at 8:30 a.m. to arrive at Jefferson Barrack National Cemetery for a 9:30 a.m. service and military honors. Rev. Keith Braddock will officiate.
