
Betty Jo Scovill, 80, of Collinsville, Illinois passed away at 3:37 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Granite City.
She was born May 29, 1945, in East St. Louis, Illinois, a daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Hooker) Coleson.
She was a devoted homemaker and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family. She was a member of Legacy Revival Center in Collinsville and cherished reading and studying The Bible and also enjoyed word puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Franklin Scovill Sr. of Collinsville; five children, Kathy Woods of St. Louis, Missouri, Lisa (David) Ray of Granite City, Pam (Mark Sayre) Sage of Washington State, Charles Scovill Jr. of Granite City and Kelly (Josh) Brown of Portland, Oregon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William “Billy” Hammers and two siblings, Louie Coleson and Bonnie Ahring.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Ron Habermehl officiating.
