Angela “Angie” Marie Brooks, 58, of Carlyle, IL died at 1:27 a.m. Thurs. Nov. 20, 2025 at Evelyn’s House in St. Louis, MO.
She was born May 20, 1967 in Belleville, IL to the late Marilyn (Kahrhoff) Smith and Alan Dale Brooks Sr.
Angie had worked at the Donut Shop in Nashville, IL as well as being an over the road truck driver. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends, playing hard won Scrabble matches with her grandmother and baking, especially the cookie cakes for her niece and nephew’s birthdays. Angie was loved by all her knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Brittney (Michael) Rice of Tularosa, NM and their children, Morgan, Conner, and Waylon Rice, a brother and sister-in-law, Alan D. “Dale” (Jackie) Brooks Jr. of Nashville, IL and their children, Sydney, and Blake, another nephew, Mason Brooks, her step-father, Jim Smith and his wife, Patty, who Angie affectionately considered her “bonus mom”, her loving partner, Carl Johnson of Carlyle, her little Chihuahuas, Buddy and Chulo, and extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Brooks.
Memorial visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mon. Nov. 24, 2025 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory.
