Marilyn Rudolph

Marilyn R. Rudolph, age 83, joined her heavenly family and friends on Sunday, December 14, 2025, with her family by her side in O’Fallon, Illinois.

Marilyn was born on April 18, 1942, to Edward and Anna (nee Diekemper) Voss in Carlyle, Illinois. Her youth was spent on their family farm, attending St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduating from Mater Dei Catholic High School in 1960. Upon completing her schooling, she entered her banking career at First National Bank of Carlyle and retired from US Bank in Highland in 2002.

She met the love of her life, Max, and they got married on May 30, 1964. In June 1965, they were blessed with the birth of their first daughter, Angie, and in March of 1969, their second daughter, Kim.Marilyn enjoyed 50 plus years and great friendships with her girl’s card club, bunco club, couples card club, anniversary group and later on Highland Woman’s Club. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and trying different recipes she collected over the years, vacationing to most of the US States, Cancun, Canada, plus Caribbean Islands and many years they wintered a couple of weeks in Florida.Upon retirement, Max and she started their day with reading the Belleville News-Democrat, working on crossword puzzles and sudoku but she also looked so forward to her Tuesday phone call with her sister, Edra, over the years.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Angela “Angie” (David) Hickman of Prairie Village, KS and Kimberly “Kim” (Matt) Lager of Greenville, IL; her grandchildren, Natalie (Blake) Henning of Omaha, NE; Morgan Hickman of Los Angeles, CA; Gabriel “Gabe” Lager of Greenville, IL and Marissa Lager of Greenville, IL; her siblings, Edra (William “Bill”) Dudley of Vancouver, WA; Louis “Lou” (Linda) Voss of O’Fallon, MO; Dolor (Gayla) Voss of Carlyle, IL and Velma (Robert “Bob”) Chamberlin of Carbondale, IL; Sister-in-Law, Betty Ann (Dr. Peter “Pete”) Wittenberg of Gastonia, NC; Brother-in-Law, James “Jim” (Helene) Rudolph of Beckemeyer, IL and many nieces and nephews from various areas of the country.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Franklin Rudolph; her parents, Edward and Anna (nee Diekemper) Voss; Father-in-Law & Mother-in-Law, Edward and Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Leslie) Rudolph; and Sister-in-Law, Sandra “Sandy” Mooberry Gebke.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, December 22, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Rev. John P. Beveridge, officiating.

Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
