Micahael Stroh

Michael Paul Stroh, 78, of Freeburg, IL, born July 3, 1947, in Belleville, IL, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Michael was a Vietnam War United States Army veteran, 1st Cavalry Division. He worked as a machinist for many years at Gundlach TJ Machine Company. Following his retirement, he lovingly became the manager of the household. Michael participated in many field trials with the American Kennel Club. He enjoyed watching the families’ sporting activities, NASCAR, and was an avid gardener. Michael also loved hunting, especially waterfowl and deer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clemens and Myrtle, nee Spreitler, Stroh, and two sisters, Mary Ann (Harold) Van Pelt and Anna Mae (Robert) Veath.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of almost 40 years, Carol Stroh, nee Rosen, whom he married on May 31, 1986; three daughters, Jeannette Saak (Fernando Lusk), Megan (Vicente) Javier, and Amanda (Kyle) Lane; five grandchildren, Brett Saak, Brendan Saak, Zachariah Lusk, Chloe Javier, and Charles Lane; a great-granddaughter, Thea Saak; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Millstadt Senior Center. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2026, and from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating.

Burial with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, with Chaplain Scott Tessin officiating.
