House Fire/Suspicious Death Investigation Underway

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – St. Louis County Police and regional bomb and arson detectives are investigating a house fire and the death of an adult man after officers found him inside a burning home late Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in north St. Louis County.

Officers from the St. Louis County Police North County Precinct responded at 10:08 p.m. May 13, 2026, to a call for a house fire in the 11300 block of Old Halls Ferry Road, police said. First responders entered the residence and located an adult male in the living room, according to a statement issued Thursday.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but later died and was pronounced deceased, police said.

The St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and the St. Louis Regional Bomb and Arson Unit are handling the investigation. Police described the investigation as active and said details could change as it progresses.
