BELLEVILLE — St. Clair County is inviting residents to donate comfort items and care package essentials for deployed Airmen from Scott Air Force Base during a donation drive Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the St. Clair County Courthouse in Belleville.
The event, organized in partnership with local military supporters, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the courthouse’s Circle Drive, 10 Public Square. The county said the effort is intended to boost morale for service members stationed overseas by sending tangible reminders of support from the community. Free hot dogs and chips will be available while supplies last.
Requested donations include gift cards, handwritten letters and encouraging drawings, energy drink powder packets, energy gum, small puzzle books, crosswords and Sudoku books, individual packages of trail mix, Pop-Tarts, sanitary napkins or tampons, baby wipes, ponytail holders, athletic socks and shoe inserts. Organizers asked residents to bring only the listed items.
“This donation drive is a simple but meaningful way for our community to show deployed Airmen that their service and sacrifice are appreciated and not forgotten,” said event organizer Kimberly Huth, St. Clair County’s director of military affairs. “Every donation makes a difference.”
