ST. LOUIS COUNTY – A 22-year-old St. Louis man has been identified as the person killed in a double shooting early June 6, 2026, in Moline Acres, while a second man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to St. Louis County Police.
The victim was identified as Demonte Dowd, 22, of the 1200 block of McLaren Avenue in St. Louis, Mo. Police said the investigation remains active.
According to previously released information, officers from the Moline Acres Police Department responded at about 12:37 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, to a ShotSpotter activation in the 9700 block of Lanier Drive in the city of Moline Acres, Missouri.
When officers arrived, they found two adult men with gunshot injuries, police said. One man, now identified as Dowd, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries police described as non-life-threatening.
The Moline Acres Police Department asked detectives with the St. Louis County Police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons to assume responsibility for the case.
Police said the investigation is active and that preliminary details may change as it progresses. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
