Gas Station Crossfire Kills Mother Of Two

FERGUSON, MO. – A woman who was at a Ferguson, Mo., gas station with two of her children was struck and killed by crossfire late Tuesday night, June 30, 2026, after an argument inside the store escalated into gunfire outside, the Ferguson Police Department said Wednesday, July 1, 2026. A man also was wounded, and the children were not physically harmed. The woman was not involved in the argument, police said.

The shooting happened shortly before midnight at a BP gas station on South Florissant Road, north of Interstate 70, in St. Louis County.

When officers arrived, they found a woman and a man outside the store suffering from gunshot wounds, Ferguson Police said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Ferguson Police said.

Police said the incident began with an argument inside the gas station that later turned into gunfire outside.

The woman was an innocent bystander in this case, police said.

The woman’s children were at the gas station during the shooting but were not injured, police said.

The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are working to determine whether the injured man was the intended target. There has been no information released about a suspect in the case.
