ST. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said Sunday, July 5, 2026, that Brandon Green, 40, of the 5300 block of Delcastle Drive in Florissant, was charged with two counts of first-degree domestic assault, two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child by creating substantial risk, one count of first-degree assault or attempt involving serious physical injury or a special victim, one count of armed criminal action, one count of unlawful use of a weapon involving shooting at or from a motor vehicle at a person, motor vehicle or building, and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Green is being held on a $750,000 cash-only bond, with no 10% option, according to the prosecutor’s office.

According to the probable cause statement, the investigation involved a shooting that authorities said occurred at about 7:07 p.m. Saturday, July 4, in the 12100 block of Lusher Road in the parking lot of a gas station and surrounding streets.

Witnesses reported that Green was the passenger in a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas that drove through the gas station parking lot, the statement said. Authorities said Green first threatened to shoot a relative who was in the parking lot.

According to the statement, Green’s wife was driving the Volkswagen Atlas and, at Green’s instruction, circled back to where another relative, identified as Green’s sister, was parked with her son inside her vehicle. Green then shot at his sister and nephew from the passenger side of the Atlas, the statement said.

The probable cause statement says the vehicle then fled the gas station, and an off-duty Riverview Gardens police officer who was working secondary employment came to assist. Authorities said Green then leaned out of the Atlas and shot at the officer, who returned fire.

Two children, ages 9 and 12, were inside the Atlas with Green, according to the probable cause statement.

In a separate incident summary, St. Louis County Police said officers from the North County Precinct responded at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday to a gas station parking lot in the 12100 block of Lusher Road for a report of shots fired.

That preliminary investigation found that a Riverview Gardens police officer working secondary security at the gas station witnessed a domestic disturbance involving individuals inside a vehicle in the parking lot. “During the disturbance, gunfire was exchanged between the individuals, and the officer discharged his service weapon,” police said.

Police said no one was injured, the Riverview Gardens officer was not injured, and one suspect was taken into custody.

St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.

The prosecutor’s office noted that charges are accusations and that defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
