Sandra Reinacher

Sandy L. Reinacher, age 84 of Highland, IL, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at her home in Highland, IL.

She was born on Monday, June 29, 1942, in Rocky Mount, NC, the daughter of James and Minnie “Flo” (nee Crocker) Rose.

On Friday, November 24, 1967, she married Darwin V. Reinacher in Reno, Nevada, who survives.

Sandy lived a life defined by warmth and a deep devotion to her family. Sandy found joy in the quiet and playful moments of life. She was a passionate crafter and an avid reader, always surrounded by her latest project or a great book. She also loved keeping her mind sharp by playing games on her iPad. The beach was Sandy’s happy place, where she loved to relax by the ocean. Above all, her absolute greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, soaking up every moment she spent with them. Her boundless love and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Darwin V. Reinacher of Highland, IL; her children, Pam Reinacher of Highland, IL, Steven Reinacher of O’Fallon, IL, Lana (Bill Zimmer) Ponce of Highland, IL and Jason Reinacher of Highland, IL; grandchildren, Ryan (Dom) Stone, Beylee Stone, Lindsey Reinacher, Austin Reinacher, Brenden (Liz) Ponce, Mitchell Ponce and Amanda (Clint) Reilson; great grandchildren, Sadie Reilson and Lincoln Reilson; sister, Emily Green of Mauldin, SC; Many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law – Vernon (Barb) Reinacher of Troy, IL, Richard Reinacher of Highland, IL, David (Cathy) Reinacher of Marine, IL, Gary Reinacher of Maryville, IL and Lenny (Ellen) Reinacher of Lebanon, IL; sisters-in-law – Marilyn Miller of Batesville, AR and Evelyn McEntire of Lonoke, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James & Minnie “Flo” (nee Crocker) Rose; sister, Jane (Bill) Creekmore; brothers-in-law – Allen (Mary) Reinacher and Bob McEntire; sisters-in-law, Alice Reinacher and Lola Reinacher (infancy); and parents-in-law – Fred & Marie (nee Landolt) Reinacher.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

A Private Visitation and Graveside Service will be held.

Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Charity of Donor’s Choice.
