Severe Thunderstorm Risk Builds Across Region Through Friday, July 10, 2026

ST. LOUIS – Thunderstorms are likely across the St. Louis region from Thursday, July 9, 2026, into Friday night, July 10, 2026, and some could turn severe, the U.S. National Weather Service in St. Louis, Mo., said on Wednesday morning, July 8, 2026.

The National Weather Service said a few storms could be severe mainly during the afternoon and evening hours Thursday across the entire area.

“Isolated severe thunderstorms also are possible Friday across southeast Missouri into Southern Illinois,” the NWS in St. Louis said.

The storms could also produce locally heavy rainfall, according to the weather service.

Possible thunderstorms are also in the forecast for Saturday, July 11, 2026, and Sunday, July 12, 2026, with a high of 88 degrees on Saturday and 89 degrees predicted by the NWS.
